Our Team

Dr. Ravi Kankaria graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He then went onward to complete his Residency in Vision Rehabilitation/Low Vision Optometry at the University of Houston at the Light House Low Vision Clinic.

Dr. Kankaria is a Therapeutically Certified Optometrist and completed his certification as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is multilingual in Spanish and 5 languages from India.

Prior to completing his Optometry Degree and Residency Program in Houston, he obtained his Diploma in Optometry, from the Municipal Eye Hospital in Mumbai, India.

He specializes in the treatment of Eye Diseases, Family Optometry Care, Contact Lenses, and LASIK co-management.

Dr. Kankaria is on the board of directors of InFocus, which is a program for Inter fostering Ophthalmic Care to the Underserved sectors. InFocus is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting eye care to the needy and underprivileged population globally. He finds great joy in helping others with the gift of sight and has participated in InFocus nonprofit eye care projects over the last 20 years.

Dr. Kankaria is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Texas Optometric Association (TOA), and a life member of the Indian Optometric Association.

He is married with two children and enjoys reading, traveling, and loves to interact with people.

Dr. Monique Adams-Derouen is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She is a graduate of the University of Houston-College of Optometry. Initially, she practiced in a well-known retina and general ophthalmology practice in Houston and then moved into private practice. Dr. Adams-Derouen believes in treating patients with complete respect and care.

She believes in taking the time to address the total health of her patients in addition to providing quality eye care. She provides comprehensive eye examinations and specializes in the diagnosis and/or treatment of glaucoma, dry eyes and various eye diseases, including diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy.

She also consults and co-manages LASIK with top cornea specialists in the Houston area.  She accepts most vision and medical insurances and speaks Spanish.
